Uruguay Partner, CommandLine, Improves Identification Process with Integrated Biometrics’ Columbo Fingerprint Scanner

Redpagos plays a prestigious role within the credit, financial and fintech industries offering services such as bill payments, salary and retirement collections, tax payments, money orders, and withdrawals and deposits from most banking entities. The growth of services associated with this sector demands the incorporation of new technologies that allow continuous improvement in terms of customer service and identity validation. This is complicated by the fact that each client has very specific needs for implementation. Transferring Identification Responsibility Away from a Manual Process
A major challenge for Redpagos involved identity validation. This was a manual process, in which the cashier at a store had the responsibility of checking the customer’s ID against the system. This process was no longer adequate for the security and convenience of customers; it was time to incorporate technology into identity validation.
Teamed with CommandLine, IB’s Uruguay partner, Redpagos selected the Columbo Desktop scanner from Integrated Biometrics. The scanner met all the requirements, including FBI certification and response speed.

CommandLine then implemented the identity validation system throughout the Redpagos network, with at least one biometric scanner at each location. New customers are enrolled with their fingerprints, so subsequent identification and login is fast and accurate. All transactions are then verified with fingerprints authenticated against the Dirección Nacional de Identificación Civil (DNIC) national civil registry database.
