Integrated Biometrics’ Products Achieve iBeta Anti-Spoofing and Liveness Detection Compliance

ISO 30107-3 Certified Presentation Attack Detection Solutions (PAD) Available to IB Partners and End Users

SPARTANBURG, S.C., July 20, 2022 – Integrated Biometrics (IB), the world leader in mobile FBI-certified biometric fingerprint scanners, has announced their Kojak, Five-0 and Watson family of products now meet the ISO 30107-3 Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) standard.

The devices were evaluated by iBeta Quality Assurance, for their anti-spoofing and liveness detection capabilities. iBeta is an independent laboratory accredited by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) to test and provide results to the ISO 30107-3 standard.

The PAD standard focuses on anti-spoofing and liveness detection. During a presentation attack an attempt is made to mimic a fingerprint from a real, live person using a fake finger or other substance. Under rigorous testing conditions, iBeta evaluated the Integrated Biometrics’ devices using multiple species of presentation attacks and was unable to gain unauthorized access – yielding an overall Presentation Attack (PA) success rate of 0%. All of the IB devices tested earned a perfect score against repeated attacks.

The Broadest Range of iBeta Compliant and FBI Certified Products

Integrated Biometrics now has the broadest range of iBeta compliant US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) certified fingerprint scanners on the market. Few devices are able to meet both standards simultaneously. By relying on proprietary image formats or manipulating the images, other companies violate the high requirements for FBI Appendix F certification.

The standard, which certifies compliance with the Next Generation Identification (NGI) Image Quality Specifications (IQS), is reviewed by the Criminal Justice Information Services Division. IB’s PAD solutions function without the need for proprietary image formats and can meet the exacting specifications required by the FBI.

“We are extremely pleased to receive this status from the independent iBeta laboratory in recognition of our commitment to rigorous presentation attack detection,” said Fred Frye, Chief Scientist, Integrated Biometrics. “IB provides a unique approach to PAD using both AI and electrical characteristics of the human finger resulting in very accurate spoof detection. We are very happy to provide this solution to meet our customers’ needs.”
