Integrated Biometrics Fingerprint Scanners Now Anti-Microbial with Introduction of RepelFlex® MBED™ by NBD Nanotechnologies

Biometric fingerprint scanners built for harsh conditions are safer and more rugged than ever with new antimicrobial, anti-scratch, anti-stain technology.

Spartanburg, SC and Boston, MA | 19 May 2021 – Integrated Biometrics (IB), the world leader in mobile, FBI-certified biometric fingerprint scanners, and NBD Nanotechnologies (NBD Nano), the surface coating experts, today announced the inclusion of NBD’s RepelFlex MBED transparent coating on IB’s entire line of fingerprint scanners.

An ultra-thin, transparent coating, RepelFlex MBED is designed to provide outstanding antimicrobial, anti-scratch, and anti-stain protection to devices. Long-lasting and multi-functional, RepelFlex MBED is ideal for surfaces that must stand up to high throughput and harsh conditions without compromising accuracy.

“Continuous improvement is part of our design process. We are always innovating to provide greater functionality, dependability, and convenience while protecting the health of the individuals with which our sensors interact,” said Doug Loy, President Integrated Biometrics, Korea and Vice President Research and Development, “NBD Nano has delivered on all counts with this cutting-edge technology.”

“Building a multifunctional surface that meets tough customer demands requires taking an innovative approach, which is the reason customers continue to depend on NBD Nano for product innovation and speed to market,” said Deckard Sorensen, CEO of NBD Nano.

IB’s line of fingerprint scanners are designed and built to be rugged, portable, efficient, and convenient to maintain—regardless of environmental conditions or physical location. They are relied upon by law enforcement, homeland security, governments, elections officials, social services, humanitarian organizations, and others for fast, accurate, reliable results.

The inclusion of RepelFlex MBED coatings enable IB’s scanners to deliver an even higher level of performance. Surfaces are tougher and more difficult to scratch or stain, increasing their longevity while maintaining print quality even when regular cleaning is not possible due to conditions or times of heavy use.

Most notable is the added safety as RepelFlex MBED significantly reduces microbial growth, making contact surfaces safer to touch and easier to sanitize with nearly any cleaner or disinfectant on the market.
