SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Watson Mini from Integrated Biometrics, developers of the world’s smallest and lightest FBI-compliant fingerprint scanners, is helping drive sales for Credence ID’s Trident biometric capture device, an Android™-based dual iris/fingerprint identification and enrollment platform.
More than 500 units have been sold since the Watson Mini – a Mobile ID IQS FAP 45, Appendix F certified scanner and SDK – was incorporated into the Trident this year to create a high-performance mobile solution.
“The strong sales of the Trident clearly demonstrate the value of the Watson Mini as the preferred solution for integration partners like Credence ID,” Steve Thies, Integrated Biometrics CEO said.
Thies pointed to the Watson Mini’s compact size and light weight combined with durability and accuracy provided by Integrated Biometrics’ patented LES (Light Emitting Sensor) Technology as the key differentiators setting the device apart from any other two-finger roll scan mobile biometric fingerprint readers currently available anywhere in the world.
The Trident collects simultaneous dual-iris images in any light condition, with the roughly 2.5” square Watson Mini seamlessly integrated on top of the device with an Android mobile operating system. One of the major deployments for the Trident so far has been in Southeast Asia where the device is used for criminal booking, forensic adjudication, and interfacing with intelligence platforms.
“The Watson Mini has been a star performer for the Trident, especially in difficult environments,” Credence ID President and CEO Bruce Hanson said, adding, “Integrated Biometrics’ technology meets our end users’ mobility requirements of size, speed, accuracy and durability. We have integrated the Watson Mini at a very low level with our single board, purpose-built biometric platform, which makes the Trident truly unique in terms of Android-based hand held biometric devices.”
The Watson Mini has been successfully integrated in multiple products serving the military, law enforcement, airport/border security, financial, and health care market sectors needing world-class fingerprint sensors that work in direct sunlight, on dry or moist fingers, and resist abrasion.
Integrated Biometrics provides enrollment and verification fingerprint sensors to hardware integrators, software and database providers, and contractors serving government agencies and commercial markets worldwide to address issues related to homeland security, border patrol, law enforcement, background checks, military and defense, social services, national ID programs and elections.
