Integrated Biometrics Receives Lenel Certification
February 9, 2010Integrated Biometrics has announced that its fingerprint biometric access control solution, the TRU650, has received Lenel factory certification. As part of this certification, Integrated Biometrics is now a partner member of the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program.
The TRU650 Biometric Access Control System (BACS) secures physical access to enterprise environments with a centralized database providing real-time control and record of activity. “Integrated Biometrics has completed required factory testing at Lenel to validate the functionality of its interface to OnGuard. We look forward to their continued involvement in the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program,” said Raffaele Ceravolo, Director of Strategic Alliances for Lenel.
With synchronized user management, customers are now able administer both the TRU650 and OnGuard by using the Lenel System’s management interface. Each time a user is created or changed in the system, a fingerprint enrollment screen is presented. As a badge is created, edited or removed, the badge number is seamlessly passed to Integrated Biometrics’ BACS to update the user record to match.
“Integrated Biometrics’ interface with OnGuard is of high value to the commercial security marketplace,” stated Fred Frye, Integrated Biometrics CTO. “The industry has been calling for improvements in biometric systems for years now. Our patented, live finger-sensing and small form factor solution delivers on that demand with high enrollment rates and consistent performance in all types of installation environments.”
The TRU650 is in use around the world with site locations that include financial institutions, police stations, data centers and healthcare facilities. Due to the advanced technologies of Integrated Biometrics’ polymer-based Light Emitting Sensor (LES), the fingerprint reader is resistant to common contaminants (i.e. grease, moisture, dirt) and immune to known spoofing techniques – resulting in high levels of usability and security.

IB Joins EDGE Innovation Network
January 18, 2010http://www.edge-innovation.com/index.cfm?acronym=ei_memberinfo&page=7#I
Integrated Biometrics announced today it has joined the EDGE® Innovation Network, a collaborative, open-environment initiative enabling industry and academia, with government input, to work together to enhance the delivery cycle of new technologies and innovative capabilities to warfighters and first responders much faster than the typical acquisition cycle.
“We are pleased to contribute our biometric physical and logical access control system technology to the EDGE network,” comments Steve Thies, Integrated Biometrics CEO. “Integrated Biometrics is providing next-generation fingerprint-based identification solutions to help meet the increasing demand of high-security environments where the military and first responders currently operate.”
Sponsored by General Dynamics C4 Systems, the EDGE has already delivered several innovations including a Soldier Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Receiver or SIR to the U.S. Army. About the size of a Blackberry®, the SIR device delivers real-time streaming video directly from multiple manned or unmanned assets directly into the hands of soldiers on the ground. Currently, there are over 10 projects in development intended to improve and enhance warfighter capabilities.
Pete Palmer, EDGE Innovation Network director, said, “The EDGE bridges gaps between end-user needs and current capabilities by promoting rapidly prototyped solutions that could close those gaps quickly. By applying the EDGE process, the government can quickly and cost-effectively review multiple options for users to evaluate in months rather than years.”
There are currently five EDGE Innovation Centers worldwide and over 100 EDGE members. Recent new members include The University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Viecore Federal Systems Division, Eatontown, N.J.; Aspen Systems, Marlborough, Mass.; Florida State University, Tallahassee, Fla.; and the University of California at Santa Barbara.
